TOWN CLERK-TREASURER

The town clerk-treasurer is an elected officer of the town and is elected to a 2-year term at the April election in even numbered years. Statutory duties are listed under s. 60.33 and s. 60.34 of the Wisconsin Statutes. Additional duties may be directed by the town board. The clerk-treasurer does not vote on any legislative matters before the town board.

The town assessor is a statutory officer of the town. The town board appoints an independent contractor to perform the statutory duties for property assessment under sec. 60.307(3)(b), Wis Stats.

LAW ENFORCEMENT

When the town electors eliminated the elected office of Constable, the Town Board decided to transfer public safety responsibilities to a Public Safety Officer employee position under the direction and control of the Town Board. The employee position is currently vacant.
